A Musical In Progress...
In the midst of the crazy and the sadness that was 2020, I discovered a new love that led me to a new adventure; writing my first ever MUSICAL! I grew up on musicals, and songwriting helped me get through my teen and adult years, but what sealed it for me believe it or not, was day 2384230 of quarantine. I was looking for the next show to binge watch and stumbled upon the Frozen 2 documentary. Watching how much the music helped tell the story and seeing it all come alive, gave me goosebumps. Then, it was like a lightbulb went off and I realized that I wanted that experience too! I love music, I love writing and I also felt like I had a story to tell. So in 2022, Finding Our Way Back was born.

This show is now years in the making. Do I know what I'm doing? Kinda. Do I believe in what I'm doing? 1000%! They say it's good to write what you know and the story I chose to tell is one that came about from some of my own personal experiences as well as some of those close to me. It has been a fun, hard and healing process to say the least. As I go farther along on this journey and share more with you all, my hope is that you will see and hear some of yourselves in the music, in the characters and in the story.
Finding Our Way Back: Show Synopsis
Small town life has not exactly been easy for sisters Zoey and Paige. Being biracial and band nerds to boot has made fitting in at their high school feel next to impossible. When summer break finally arrives, Zoey and Paige are grateful for the chance to escape to the city of Seattle. Even if it means having to spend an entire summer with their mom, who’s been feeling more and more like a stranger.
What begins as a summer of broken relationships, identity crisis and close kept secrets turns into a life changing summer of self discovery, forgiveness and healing. Finding Our Way Back is a story that will take us on a journey of what it takes to come into our own by finding a way back to ourselves and the ones we love.
